Rulebook Session

Understanding the Rules Before Building the Machine

Every successful kart begins with understanding the rules.

In the Edgeline Go-Kart Championship, the Rulebook Session is not just a formality . It is the technical foundation of your entire project. This session ensures that every team moves in the right direction before manufacturing begins.

We believe that strong engineering starts with clarity, discipline, and respect for standards.

END-TO-END

Why Rulebook Session is Important

Many teams fail not because of poor engineering

but because they miss small rule requirements.

This session helps teams:

Understand technical limits

Avoid design mistakes

Build safe vehicles

Save time and manufacturing cost

Prepare correct documentation

Follow professional motorsport standards

What Happens in the Rulebook Session

Static Engineering Review

During this session, our technical team walks through the full structure of the championship rules and explains the real engineering expectations behind each requirement. This session covers:

Teams learn:

Vehicle dimensional limits
Chassis design guidelines
Material requirements
Safety structure standards
Steering and braking requirements

Safety is not optional ,It is mandatory.

During this session, teams understand:

1) Fire safety requirements
2) Driver protection rules
3) Kill switch placement
4) Brake system standards
5) Firewall specifications
6) Electrical isolation rules

Every component that affects safety must strictly follow rulebook standards.According to inspection guidelines, any design that compromises safety will not be allowed to participate in the event.

Teams must also understand driver safety equipment requirements.

Mandatory driver equipment includes:

1)Closed-face certified helmet
2)Fire-resistant clothing
3)Gloves and shoes
4)Neck support
5)Valid driving license
6)Driver insurance

These requirements ensure that the driver remains protected during dynamic testing and racing conditions.

Teams are introduced to upcoming submission-based evaluations.

These include:

1)Design Presentation
2)Cost Report
3)Business Presentation

All these presentations are conducted virtually before the on-ground event, allowing teams to focus fully on vehicle performance during racing days.

Before moving into design and manufacturing, every team must thoroughly understand the official championship rules.According to championship guidelines,  All participating teams are required to study and comply with the official rules before event execution, and organizers reserve the authority to modify rules whenever necessary.

How This Session Helps Your Team

Teams that attend the Rulebook Session properly:

  • Reduce rework during manufacturing
  • Avoid penalties
  • Improve design clarity
  • Save material cost
  • Increase scoring chances
  • Improve safety compliance

In professional motorsports, understanding rules is considered the first engineering milestone.

This session builds that discipline.

2

Support After Rulebook Session

After completing the Rulebook Session, teams are not left alone.

They receive:

  • Clarification support
  • Query resolution
  • Technical direction
  • Document references
  • Process guidance

Any confusion related to rules can be discussed with the official technical team.

The rulebook also provides an official communication channel where teams can submit queries and receive clarification before deadlines.

3

What Teams Should Do After This Session

Once the rulebook session is completed, teams should:

  1. Review rulebook carefully
  2. Assign technical departments
  3. Start conceptual design
  4. Select materials
  5. Begin CAD modeling
  6. Plan manufacturing strategy

This is the stage where your engineering journey truly begins.

3

Building Discipline Before Building Speed

Many teams dream of racing.

But strong teams first learn discipline.

Understanding the rules before building the kart is what separates professional engineering teams from casual participants.

In Edgeline, we do not just encourage participation .
we build engineers who understand responsibility.

The machine you build reflects the discipline you follow.

And discipline begins here.
